We place particular emphasis on aesthetics, especially in the visible front teeth area. All-ceramic crowns made of modern glass-ceramic are considered the best option here: when properly designed, even experts can hardly tell them apart from a natural tooth. The reason lies in the way light is refracted. Only a metal-free crown refracts light the way a natural tooth does.

Because every tooth has different shades and levels of translucency, the crown is built up in the dental lab using multiple layers of color or precisely fabricated using CAD/CAM technology. This ensures that it blends harmoniously with your smile and is used when a tooth is severely damaged by decay, an accident, or wear and tear.

Ceramic isn't always necessary. Teeth become discolored over time due to aging and the pigments in coffee, tea, red wine, or nicotine. At our practice, we primarily use in-office or power bleaching, which is completed in about an hour. Alternatively, there is at-home bleaching using a tray that is worn overnight for one to two weeks.

We use a light-activation system in the blue-green wavelength range. This light emits very little heat and no harmful UV rays. Combined with a low-concentration hydrogen peroxide gel, this is one of the safest treatments in dentistry. After just about an hour, the teeth are up to three to four shades lighter, and the results last two to three years. Age plays virtually no role in this process.
