Dental hygiene - Your dental spa

"Healthy teeth for a lifetime" is our common goal.
Damage to teeth and gums can be prevented in advance. Our experienced dental hygienist will therefore provide you with intensive and individual care, from professional teeth cleaning to the development of your personal oral hygiene and prevention concept.
Prevention equals prevention!
Prevention means prophylaxis. Prevention (prophylaxis) is practiced in many areas of medicine, such as oral vaccination against polio = prevention or cancer screening = prevention.
Prevention against tooth decay and gum disease (= periodontitis) also exists in dentistry, but unfortunately most patients are still far too unaware of this.

Here are some figures (worldwide)
Caries and periodontitis are the number one epidemic and unfortunately the most common diseases of all - and not just of the teeth:
- approx. 95% of the population are infected and carry the pathogens
- Only 36% of 6-year-olds have healthy teeth
- 13%! of the total population aged 14 and over wear a full prosthesis!
Yet tooth decay and gum disease are almost 100% preventable today!
Let's work together to make this happen!

Caries and periodontitis are infectious diseases!
Many scientific studies have clearly established that tooth decay is a bacterial infectious disease caused, among other things, by Streptococcus mutans bacteria, which everyone carries with them and can therefore be transmitted.
For example, these bacteria are passed on from mother to child, which explains the family-specific incidence of tooth decay.
The goal must therefore be to reduce bacteria - through your cooperation and through special prevention programs in our dental practice!
What is the procedure?
The session always begins with an examination of the teeth and gums. Once a year, the periodontal screening index, "PSI", is also carried out here. In a quick screening procedure, the health of your periodontium (gums and periodontium) is determined by measuring the gum pockets and categorized into different grades from 0 (healthy) to 4 (severely diseased). Depending on the degree of severity, further treatment planning and the interval between dental hygiene sessions are determined according to our prevention and treatment concept
We then begin with the gentle and thorough removal of hard and soft plaque from the tooth surface using hand instruments, ultrasonic and powder jet devices. To make it more difficult for bacteria and plaque to accumulate, the tooth surfaces are polished to a high gloss using special polishers.
Finally, you will receive specific training and information regarding daily oral hygiene and possible problem areas, as well as clarification of any questions.

As you can see...we work thoroughly...and of course that takes time! So please allow 60 minutes for your dental hygiene appointment.
