Once a year, we also calculate the Periodontal Screening Index (PSI): a quick procedure that measures the depth of your gum pockets to determine the condition of your periodontal tissue on a scale from 0 (healthy) to 4 (severely diseased). Depending on the severity, we plan further treatment and the intervals between appointments.<\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"step\">\n        <div class=\"n\">2<\/div>\n        <div class=\"stxt\"><b>Gentle Cleaning and Polishing<\/b>Next, we remove hard and soft plaque from the tooth surface using hand instruments as well as ultrasonic and powder jet devices.
